He has written about sports, music, and politics for numerous newspapers and magazines since 1980. He is the author of Babe Ruth and the 1918 Red Sox and has contributed as both a writer and editor to seven books published by the Society for American Baseball Research, including When Boston Still Had The Babe. He has been writing The Joy of Sox blog since 2003. He was born and raised in Vermont, enjoyed 2004 while living in New York City, and now lives on Vancouver Island, with his partner, Laura Kaminker, and their two dogs, Cookie and Kai.

nowlin-authorphoto-snipBill Nowlin grew up in Greater Boston as a Red Sox fan, and though devoting most of his time to his music company, Rounder Records, began to write about baseball in the latter half of the 1990s. He’s written or edited close to 50 books, most of them about the Red Sox. He has been vice president of the Society for American Baseball Research since the summer of 2004 and has written over 350 Red Sox player biographies for SABR. He’s seen the Red Sox play in the U.S., Canada, Dominican Republic, Japan, and England. His website is Boston Baseball.
